Underdogs Collective highlights individuals that have overcome adversity and are now chasing their dreams. The platform was created to bring motivation, support and inspiration to anyone that are going through a tough period in their life.
Adversity comes in many shapes and forms; poverty, illness, disorders, victim of a crime or accident, losing a loved one – the list goes on. The thing is.. sometimes life hits us. Sometimes it hits us so hard that we lose all hope and desire to do anything. Believe me, I know. Now… who exactly am “I”?
My name is Jack Blossby and I’m the founder of The Underdogs Collective.
When I was 17 years old and still in High School, I developed the eating disorder called anorexia I lost an unhealthy amount of weight and spiraled down one of the darkest periods of my life. Hair loss, freezing, no energy and being trapped in my own destruction was about to be my day-to-day life for over a year.
When I realized I had anorexia, I started doing a lot of research and tried to find other males in similar situations in order to help ease my situation. The problem was, I didn’t know where to turn and when I tried Googling it.. well then I mainly found women that talked about it. With that being said; props to all the women for being so open about it!
However, for just a 17 year old kid at the time it didn’t really help. In fact, I remember feeling more weird and more lonely since my perception of eating disorders at the time was that mainly women dealt with it – which couldn’t be further from the truth.
Underdogs Collective was created to prevent someone else from experiencing loneliness in their struggle – regardless of what you’re going through. Whether you are fighting a disease, been victim of a crime or experienced any other type of adversity; at Underdogs Collective you will find others that have been in similar situations and made it out in one piece. You are not alone and most importantly.. you can still achieve that dream that has always been in the back of your mind.
